Since this is a quasi-judicial office, policy is not formulated here. There is no requirement for consultation with public, since individual cases are heard and disposed of. However, an inspection of their own case records can be taken under the SAFEM (FOP) Act, and copies can be provided on payment of nominal charges as prescribed under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property) Rules, 1977.
